What we ask of contestants:

Bring Your Best: Prepare 3-4 gallons of your signature soup to serve to guests and judges. This is your chance to showcase flavor & culinary creativity.

Be Ready to Shine: Arrive on time and be set up before the event begins. We’ll provide your table, chairs, serving cups, and utensils! Just bring your soup and your display flair.

Engage & Represent: Interact with guests, share your story, and represent your restaurant with pride. This is a great opportunity to build connections and community goodwill.

Stay for the Celebration: Stick around for the awards and recognition ceremony. You might just take home a prize, and we’d love to celebrate with you!

 

What you can expect from us:

Exposure & Marketing:Your restaurant will be featured in pre-event advertising, event programs, and social media spotlights, giving your brand visibility to a wide audience.

Awards & Recognition: Compete for multiple honors, including a few cash prizes. Categories include: Top 3 Judges’ Picks, People’s Choice, CEO’s Choice, and Best Table Display.

Networking & Community Impact: Connect with fellow chefs, engage directly with the public, and show your support for a meaningful cause.

Event Support: Registration includes your table, two chairs, all serving cups and utensils, plus promotional exposure. All you need to bring is your signature soup and your creativity.

Q: Do we have to pay to participate?  

  • Yes, your registration buy in will also go to charity!

Q: Where do I register to participate? 

  • On our digital ticketing website, Yapsody 

Q: When does registration close? 

  • Registration will remain open until all contestant spots are filled. 

Q: Do we need to bring our own cups and spoons? 

  • Only if you would like to use your own. Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel will provide both cups and spoons for guests to enjoy the soups. 

Q: Do we need to bring our own ladles? 

  • Yes 

Q: Do we need to bring our own tablecloths? 

  • If you wish to display your brand or business, you are invited to bring your tablecloth. Otherwise, blank tablecloths will be provided. 

Q: Can I decorate my table? 

  • Yes, we encourage creative displays & there will be a friendly table display competition!

Q: Can I bring promo items? 

  • Yes, you can have promotional items at your table. 

Q: How much soup do I need to bring? 

  • We recommend 3 to 4 Gallons. Please note that running out of soup during the competition can be discouraging and may affect People's Choice judging. 

Q: What are the soup categories my soup will be competing in? 

  • All registered soups will be competing for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, People's Choice & CEO's Choice in an open-category style competition. 

Q: Am I allowed to serve sides with my soup? 

  • Yes, however sides will not be factored into panel judging. 

Q: Are there any power cords or outlets to plug into? 

  • Yes, we will provide outlets for plugging in. 

Q: Is it ok to bring my own warmers, Pots, or Sterno. 

  • Yes, it's Mandatory to provide your own warming equipment.   

Q: Do we provide warmers? 

  • No, Shoshone-Bannock Casino Hotel will not provide warmers.

Q: Is there a place to store my soup to keep it at a safe temperature? 

  • Yes, we will provide a hot box to hold soup at a safe temperature.

Q: Can I drop my soup off and have someone else serve it for me? 

  • No, this is not permitted. Participants must serve their own soup to ensure someone knowledgeable about the ingredients is available to identify potential food allergies for guests.  

Q: Is there a minimum or maximum number of table workers I can have at my booth? 

  • We recommend 2-4 workers to keep up with the guests. 

Q: What time do I arrive for setup? 

  • Setup begins at 3PM, soup judging will begin at 4PM 

Q: When will the winners be announced? 

  • All event winners will be announced at the end of the event.
